Mask rules in Michigan

To mask or not to mask: That is the question Americans are increasingly asking since new guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention were announced last week.To get more news about quality type IIR mask company, you can visit tnkme.com official website.

People who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 can now drop their masks and social distancing at most indoor locations, and the guidelines suggest it is safe for all Americans — vaccinated or not — to go maskless outdoors.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Friday that state health officials would follow the CDC's recommendations on mask wearing, and issued an official public health order late Friday that outlines what's allowed and what's not.

The new guidelines set up two different sets of rules, awarding more freedom to vaccinated Americans to go out in public largely without masks while still requiring unvaccinated Americans to wear them in indoor settings.

Businesses and other establishments can decide for themselves whether they'll still require people to wear masks; they can also still ask people to continue to maintain up to 6 feet of social distance at their discretion. Some retailers, such as Kroger, have said they would continue to require all customers and employees to mask up, regardless of vaccination status. But others, such as Target and Meijer, have switched their policies, saying they'll no longer require masks for vaccinated customers.

Many organizations are still waiting on more clarity from the state health department and the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration before changing their policies.Marc Perrone, international president of the United Food and Commercial Workers union, which represents 1.3 million retail and food workers, blasted the guidelines, calling them confusing and saying they put essential workers at risk of exposure to people who won't get vaccinated and won't wear masks.

“Millions of Americans are doing the right thing and getting vaccinated, but essential workers are still forced to play mask police for shoppers who are unvaccinated and refuse to follow local COVID safety measures," he said. "Are they now supposed to become the vaccination police?"

The National Nurses United Union also opposes the CDC's new mask recommendations, saying they don't protect the public health, but rather "threaten the lives of patients, nurses, and other front-line workers across the country."
